These four Milwaukee County Parks golf courses are reopening Wednesday

Do you wish you would've gotten in one last golf game this year before fall turned to winter?

Well, if so, you're in luck. Milwaukee County Parks announced Tuesday afternoon that four of its golf courses will briefly reopen for the season on Wednesday, Dec. 6, due to unseasonably warm weather. Of course, this special winter opening is weather dependent.

The golf courses at Whitnall, Lincoln and Grant parks, as well as the front nine holes at Currie Park, will be open from Wednesday until at least Friday, Dec. 8, said Milwaukee County Parks assistant golf services manager Josh Zuba.

The parks system decided to reopen the golf courses because weather will be in the upper 40s, and even touch the 50s, between Wednesday and Friday, Zuba said. According to the National Weather Service, Milwaukee can expect to see a high of 49 degrees on Thursday and 54 degrees on Friday.

"Whenever the weather gets into the 50s, we always have demand from golfers," Zuba said.

After Friday, how long the golf courses remain open depends, again, on weather. Temperatures are expected to dip back into the 30s and 40s over the weekend.

All four courses will be walking only. No golf carts will be available or permitted. Golfers can reserve a tee time online at the Milwaukee County Parks mke.golf website.

Admission to the golf courses during this special winter period is priced at the lowest posted rates of the season.
