What to know about the 27th annual Gingerbread Festival at Kohler's Waelderhaus

KOHLER — The Gingerbread Festival returns for its 27th year at the Waelderhaus.
The free annual celebration at the historic house museum, 1100 W. Riverside Drive, will begin Nov. 24 and run through Dec. 30. It will be open 1-5 p.m. Sundays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
There will be a hand-crafted gingerbread houses and sculpture competition with participants from local schools and community organizations, according to a new release. Those with winning designs could receive varying cash prizes to be donated to a charity of their choice.
The event will bring musical performances and a chance to tour the Waelderhaus. Tours are offered at 2, 3 and 4 p.m.
Reservations are not required for the festival but are suggested for tour groups of more than 10 people.
The Waelderhaus will be closed Christmas Eve and Day and New Year’s Eve and Day.
