Blowing bubbles and going to playgrounds are both fun summer activities for kids. In August, the Milwaukee Recreation Department will combine the two when it hosts foam bubble parties at three local playgrounds.
Here's how it works. For one hour at each of the playgrounds, a professional foam blasting cannon will release mounds of bubbles that kids can play in while listening to kid-friendly music.
Children ages 6 to 17 are invited to participate in the free activity. Parents or guardians will be required to fill out permission slips at the playgrounds.
The foam bubble parties will take place Aug. 2 at the following Milwaukee Public Schools playgrounds:
- Franklin Square Playfield, 2643 N. 13th St. from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Green Bay Playfield, 3818 N. 18th St. from 1 to 2 p.m.
- Clovernook Playfield, 6594 N. Landers St. from 3 to 4 p.m.
