Death Cab for Cutie opens for the Killers at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on July 5, 2019.

This year, Ben Gibbard commemorated the 20th anniversary of two influential, platinum-certified indie rock albums from his two bands —“Transatlanticism” from Death Cab for Cutie, and “Give Up” from The Postal Service — with a co-headlining tour performed in front of more than 250,000 fans.

The celebration is continuing with more shows in 2024, including in Milwaukee.

The bands will co-headline the Miller High Life Theatre May 6, one of 16 new North American dates announced Thursday. Opening for them will be Slow Pulp, the acclaimed Chicago-based indie-rock band made up of four musicians who grew up in the Madison area.

Death Cab frequently have come through Milwaukee, including a Riverside Theater show in June. But this will be the Postal Service’s first Milwaukee show in 21 years, and only the band’s second gig ever in the city.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 8 through the Pabst Theater box office (144 E. Wells St.) and pabsttheater.org. Presales begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and fans can sign up for access at giveuptransatlanticismtour.com. Prices have yet to be announced.
