New bubble tea, ramen spot coming to Milwaukee's east side
A new bubble tea and ramen spot is coming to Milwaukee's east side, at 2028 E. North Ave.
Tai Chi Bubble Tea has an expected opening date of Jan. 8, according to a Milwaukee business license application.
Tai Chi is a franchise based in Rochester, New York. Opened in 2015, it lists 38 locations around the country on its website. This will be the first Wisconsin location. Jianming Mei of Glendale is listed as the operator on the license application.
Besides bubble tea, it serves serve poke bowls, ramen, smoothies and mochi donuts.
The location, on E. North Avenue between N. Farwell Avenue and N. Prospect Avenue, is next to Whole Foods. In the past, it's been the home of the Nice Times restaurant, Snack Boys restaurant, the Hotel Foster bar and the Globe East live-music club.
