GREEN BAY – Christian Watson was unable to practice when the Green Bay Packers returned to the field Thursday, but another playmaker in their offense might be getting closer.

Aaron Jones practiced Thursday for the first time since straining his MCL two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Chargers. That the Packers were able to knock off the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs without their top running back adds to the intrigue of what they might be capable of once Jones is healthy.

Likewise, cornerback Jaire Alexander practiced Thursday. Alexander has not played the past four games since injuring his shoulder against the Los Angeles Rams a month ago. The Packers secondary has performed well in his absence, but Alexander is their top coverage defender.

Watson exited Sunday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a hamstring injury. The severity of his injury is uncertain. He was at Thursday’s practice but did not participate, standing on the sideline during opening stretch. Watson has emerged again as the Packers top receiving threat during their win streak, catching 14 passes for 186 yards and four touchdowns in the past three games.

Linebacker Quay Walker and safety Darnell Savage were also unable to practice Thursday.
