Mark Hoffman
Photojournalist
Mark Hoffman has been on staff at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel since 1992.
Before coming to Milwaukee, he was a photo desk supervisor and picture editor at the New York headquarters of The Associated Press.
He has been a photojournalist at the Bridgeport Post & Telegram (now the Connecticut Post), the La Crosse (Wis.) Tribune along with internships at Newsday and Detroit News.
A recent major project was Dairyland in Distress, a look at the perils facing Wisconsin’s signature industry. He was the lead photojournalist for the companion PBS Frontline story.

Other stories include the civil war in El Salvador; the ongoing struggle of grinding poverty and corruption in Haiti, and New York the day after the 9/11 attacks.
In addition to the Olympics, he has covered nearly every major sporting event in the U.S. including Super Bowls, NBA Finals, NCAA national championships, US Open Golf & Tennis.
He was part of a team that was honored for its digital environmental reporting in 2016 with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for A Watershed Moment: Great Lakes at a Crossroads.
