MADISON – Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell and his staff have added what they hope will be another key piece to their defense.
Xavier Lucas, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect from American Heritage High School in Florida, announced Friday he has committed to UW’s 2024 class.
Lucas, who can play safety or cornerback, chose UW over Iowa and Florida State.
His announcement came less than a week after the Seminoles secured a commitment from KJ Bolden of Buford, Georgia.
Bolden is expected to play safety at Florida State and his commitment enhanced UW’s chances to land Lucas.
Lucas is the 21st known commitment for UW’s 2024 class. That includes five defensive backs.
