UW’s staff needed two days to convince Johnson that he would fit in at Camp Randall Stadium.
Johnson, from Joliet Catholic Academy in Illinois, announced Wednesday he has committed to UW. Johnson also plans to wrestle at UW.
The 6-foot-2, 285-pound Johnson held offers from Cincinnati, California, Iowa State, Kansas State, Missouri and several other schools when he committed to Northwestern.
He gives UW a second defensive lineman in the 2024 class, joining defensive end Hank Weber of Brentwood, Tennessee.
